E-mail Instructions – Check Your E-mail Settings

When setting up e-mail on POPP's network, please verify that all e-mail users have the correct e-mail settings. If you do not have the correct e-mail settings, your e-mail may not work correctly in the future.

If your e-mail settings are incorrect, please adjust the e-mail settings using the instructions below.

 Outlook 2010

  • Click on File tab and click Add Account
  • Select Manually Configure, then  click Next
  • Select Internet E-mail, then click Next
  • Under Internet E-mail Settings, enter the required information:
    -  Your Name:  your name or company name
    -  E-mail Address:  your full e-mail address
    -  Account Type: POP3 or IMAP
    -  Incoming Mail Server (POP3 users):  pop.popp.net
    -  Incoming Mail Server (IMAP users):   imap.popp.net
    -  Outgoing Mail Server:  smtp.popp.net
    -  User Name:  your full e-mail address
    -  Password:  passwords are case sensitive
    -  Check Remember Password (optional), then Next
  • Click Finish

 Windows Mail (Microsoft Vista)

  • Go to Tools
  • Select Menu > Accounts > Add
  • Select E-mail Account, then click Next
  • Enter Display Name
  • Enter E-mail Address
  • Select Incoming e-mail server type: POP3 or IMAP
  • Incoming Mail (POP3 users):  pop.popp.net
  • Incoming Mail (IMAP users): imap.popp.net
  • Enter Outgoing Mail:  smtp.popp.net
  • Enter E-mail Username:  full e-mail address
  • Enter Password: passwords are case sensitive 
  • Select Remember Password
  • Select Download E-mail Now
  • Click Finish
Outlook 2007
  • Go to Tools and scroll down to Account Settings
  • Click the E-mail tab and click New
  • Make sure the option for Microsoft Exchange, POP3 is selected, then click Next
  • Select Manually Configure, then Next
  • Select Internet E-mail, then click Next
  • Under Internet E-mail Settings, enter the required information:
    -  Your Name:  your name or company name
    -  E-mail Address:  your full e-mail address
    -  Account Type: POP3 or IMAP
    -  Incoming Mail Server (POP3 users):  pop.popp.net 
    -  Incoming Mail Server (IMAP users):  imap.popp.net
    -  Outgoing Mail Server:  smtp.popp.net
    -  User Name:  your full e-mail address
    -  Password:  passwords are case sensitive
    -  Check Remember Password, then Next
  • Click Finish

Outlook Express/Outlook 2000

  • Go to Tools
  • Select Accounts
  • Highlight your e-mail account by clicking on it
  • Click on Properties (on the right)
  • Click on Servers tab in the new dialog box 
  • Incoming Mail (POP3 or type in IMAP):  
    -  Incoming Mail Server (POP3 users):  pop.popp.net 
    -  Incmoing Mail Server (IMAP users): imap.popp.net
  • Outgoing Mail (SMTP):
    -  smtp.popp.net (non-mobile users); or
    -  mobilesmtp.popp.net (mobile users)
  • Click OK, then Close

Outlook 2002/2003

  • Go to Tools
  • Select E-mail Accounts
  • Select Add New
  • Select POP3 or IMAP
  • Incoming Mail Server (POP3 users):  pop.popp.net
  • Incoming Mail Server (IMAP users):  imap.popp.net 
  • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
    -  smtp.popp.net (non-mobile users); or
    mobilesmtp.popp.net (mobile users)
  • Click Next
  • Click Finish

 Outlook 97

  • Go to Tools
  • Select Services
  • Click on Internet Mail to Highlight
  • Click on Properties
  • Internet Mail Server:  pop.popp.net
  • Click Advanced Options
  • Forward all outbound mail to the following mail server:
    -  smtp.popp.net (non-mobile users); or
    -  mobilesmtp.popp.net (mobile users)
  • Click OK

 Outlook 98

  • Go to Tools
  • Select Services
  • Click Internet E-mail Outlook98 to Highlight
  • Click Properties
  • Click on Servers tab in the new dialog box 
  • Incoming Mail (POP3):  pop.popp.net
  • Outgoing Mail (SMTP):
    -  smtp.popp.net (non-mobile users); or
    -  mobilesmtp.popp.net (mobile users)
  • Click OK
